8 things to know about me:

1. Favorite Color - Turquoise - The stone has a deep, sacred tie to Native American culture. In Zuni, turquoise can be translated to "the sky stone." It is said that turquoise represents tranquility, protection, and hope.

2. Top place to travel - I have a goal of traveling to every country my mom lived as she was growing up. Some of the places I haven't made it to yet include Peru, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

3. Favorite Comfort Meal - A loaf of bread. There is truly nothing more comforting than a big ol' loaf of good bread.

4. Must have with you - My water bottle. I had my last water bottle for 8 years, it had survived falling down multiple canyons while I went hiking. I feel naked (and incredibly dehydrated) without it.

5. Favorite Book - The White Oleander by Janet Fitch

6. Favorite place in Massachusetts? Arizona? - In Mass., Rock Meadow in Belmont. Specifically the community garden. In AZ, Monument Valley in the Navajo Nation. It is located by the northeastern tip of the state, on the Utah/AZ border. It is about 2 hours west of the 4 corners.

7. Favorite Word - "Moai" - Moai is a Japanese term that refers to a committed group of friends who support one another in all forms of health (emotional, social, financial, spiritual, etc). They are formed regularly in Japan, often starting in childhood, in order to provide social support. It can also be translated as "meeting for a common purpose."

8. Quote to live by - "Some days I am more wolf than woman, and I am still learning how to stop apologizing for my wild." - from Women Who Run With The Wolves by Dr.Clarissa Pinkhola Estes
